Nene Aïssatou Diallo is an artist working across mediums, including photography, video, textiles, and collage. Born in Guinea and raised in the United States, her practice is rooted in the material and emotional landscapes of both. Her starting point is often the personal—family photo albums, objects, and materials gathered between Newark, Harlem, Brooklyn, Conakry, and Dakar—using them as a portal into broader conversations around memory and belonging.

Diallo has exhibited nationally and held residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Index Art Center, Gallery Aferro, Project for Empty Space, The Residency Project, and STONELEAF RETREAT. Her work has been featured by Format, Monument Lab Bulletin, NPR, RVA Magazine, The Financial Times, Rutgers University – Newark, Express Newark, and most recently, at the 13th edition of the Bamako Encounters – African Biennale of Photography.

Aïssatou  works and lives in Brooklyn, New York. She spends a great deal of time in Newark, NJ with her parents, whose home and conversations continue to shape her practice.
