Nene Aïssatou Diallo is an interdisciplinary artist based in Newark, NJ. Using African wax prints, photography, collage, and video, she attempts to eloquently synthesize the variables of her identity using objects and materials as stand-ins. As an immigrant to the United States, she works to define home, to confront the politics that are inherent in her identity, and to resist legacies of erasure, silence, and violence.

She received her BA in Visual Media and Arts Practices and double majored in Women, Gender, and Sexualities Studies with a minor in Art History at the University of Richmond in 2018.

She is currently a studio resident at Gallery Aferro.
